Central Pay Office

The Central Pay Office is responsible for all activities related to salary payments for State government employees in accordance with approved structures, legislative ordinances and other relevant regulations.

Fields of Responsibility:

  • Local and overseas salary payments, terms of service, personal payments, and pensions
  • Monitoring and supervision of the manner of salary budget implementation in the State government Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs).
  • Publication of professional guidelines, Accountant General Memos and financial regulations on issues regarding salaries and terms of service in all State government departments.
  • Calculation and publication of government actuarial obligation data to state pensions for employees and pensioners.
  • Economic analysis of salary and service components in government departments.
  • Updates of procedures and tariffs for employment of workers employed in State government offices through personnel companies, consultants, service providers etc.
  • Liaison with Pension Fund Custodians regarding deposits for state employees.
  • The Salary Division is also responsible for ongoing professional operational guidelines, data security and other issues.
  • Participation in departmental and inter-departmental forums and in professional committees on government salary-related issues.
  • Ensure the payroll in updated in terms of detail transfer, termination, pension, promotion, resignation and appointment of staff.
