The Monitoring and Investigation Department is responsible for expenditure validation, budget management and execution for the 5 sectors as listed below:

1. Administration sector
2. Economic sector
3. Law and Justice Sector
4. Regional sector
5. Social sector

The department is responsible for focusing on the Programs underpinning the Annual Estimate Capital Expenditures as detailed in the Caring Heart Policy thrust of the State Government with a view to:

• Analyzing and evaluating the Activities supporting the various Project objectives by programme.
• Monitoring input/resources deployed towards achieving objectives.
• Evaluation of the output as claimed by the ministerial Project implementation
• Providing feedback for improvement to Accounting Officers through the Accountant General.
